Security Paper

Basic

  • Invisible Fluorescent Fibers: Integral to the sheet, these fibers are instantly detectable under black (UV) light and can’t be reproduced on copiers.
  • Solvent Dye Reaction: Alteration attempts with solvent-based ink eradicators are signaled by the appearance of black and blue specks.
  • Bleach Reactive Brownstain guards against the use of chlorine-based eradicators, causing the altered area to turn brown.

Advanced

  • Bleach Reactive Brownstain: Full coverage Chlorostain both sides. Alteration attempts with oxidant (bleach) causes permanent orange-brown stain
  • Full Solvent Reactivity: Visible colorburst (blue-green-purple) appears when alteration attempts are made with solvent chemicals (tricholoroethylene, methanol/alcohols, acetone).
  • Invisible Fluorescent Fibers: Cellulose fibers invisible to the unaided eye. Detectable under UV light. Cannot be reproduced on photocopiers.

  • Multi-language VOID: When alteration attempts are made on the front with an oxidant such as bleach. "STOP" or "VOID" appears in eight (8) languages in an orange-brown stain.

  • Artificial Fluorescent Watermark: Visible or invisible graphics on the back will fluoresce under UV light. Cannot be photocopied.

Definitions:
True Watermark: A fourdrinier watermark is pressed into the paper during manufacturing and shows a positive image in transmitted light, and a negative image in reflected light. It has a three dimensional appearance, resists photocopying, scanning and cut and paste alterations.
Invisible (Covert)
Fluorescent Fibers:
Embedded in the sheet, fibers are visible only under ultraviolet light and are extremely difficult to duplicate.
Visible (Overt) Fibers: Fibers are visible in ordinary light and are randomly arranged on both sides of the paper. These fibers will extend from a torn edge to verify authenticity.
Chemical Reactants: This process resists duplication and alteration by having invisible chemical reactants in the paper. The reactants produce permanent stains when bleach or solvents are used to alter the document. Full chemical reactivity immediately signals the fraudulent use of 18 different substances, producing indelible stains when any alteration attempt is undertaken.
UV Dull: Our optically dead basesheet composition ensures the optimal application of inks which are invisible to the naked eye but instantly apparent under UV lighting.

Printed Security Features

Microprinting
Text printed at 1/100 of an inch so it appears as a line. It fills or plugs if scanned or photocopied and must be verified with a low powered magnifying glass.

Warning Band
Explanations on documents alerting document handlers, processors and potential forgers that specific security features are present.

Warning Icons
The Padlock Icon can be added to your Warning Border. This icon has become the standard symbol within the banking industry to indicate that security features are present. The MP icon can be added to the end of your Micro Print Signature Line to identify the use of this effective feature.

Void Pantographs
State-of-the-art ODT (optical deterrent technology) void pantographs make it extremely difficult for counterfeiters to reproduce any document on high end color copiers and scanners. The word void appears in multiple locations on the document when it is copied or scanned. This security feature is not 100% fool proof. These pantographs are designed to combat a specific line of high end copiers and scanners most commonly used by today’s counterfeiters.

Bleed Thru Arabic Numbering
Special dyes in the ribbon used when crash numbering that bleeds through the paper making the number visible on the back side of the check.
